The phenomenon "cannibalism" in Dermatophagoides farinae

چکیده
In the course of the routine parasitological examination of housedust samples, nearly 65,000 mites have been isolated and identified since 1969. So far the beginning of the 1980's chitinous particles of other Dermatophago ides mites and those of other mite species have regularly been found in the bo dies of house-dust mites, mostly D. farinae females. The possible significance and causes of the phenomenon "cannibalism" are discussed in this paper.
